KEEP CRITICAL FACILITY SYSTEMS RUNNINGPDS Tech Commercial is hiring an experienced Plumber/Mechanic – PHVAC to maintain and repair a wide range of plumbing, HVAC, heating, refrigeration, water, and fire protection systems in a complex facility.
This is a temp-to-hire opportunity for a skilled trades professional who can diagnose problems, perform preventive maintenance, complete installations and repairs, and respond to emergency service needs.
POSITION OVERVIEWLocation: Princeton, NJ
Pay:$35.00/hour
Shift: 1st Shift
Assignment: Temp-to-Hire
Maintain and repair boilers, chillers, air conditioners, pumps, air handlers, ventilation equipment, and related mechanical systems.
Install and repair plumbing systems, including domestic water, sanitary waste, gas, steam, sewage, fixtures, and lift systems.
Troubleshoot electronic and pneumatic controls, motors, and environmental systems using gauges, meters, and test equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on refrigeration and food service equipment, including walk-in units, icemakers, dishwashers, steamers, and gas ranges.
Support water treatment, sewage systems, and fire protection equipment, including sprinklers and hydrants.
Balance and adjust systems for proper operation and efficiency.
Perform welding, cutting, equipment installation, and other facility maintenance as needed.
Document work orders, repairs, parts usage, and maintenance activities.
Respond to emergency maintenance requests and coordinate additional support when necessary.
Follow all safety, OSHA, facility, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Valid New Jersey State Master Plumber License required
High School Diploma or equivalent
4+ years of plumbing installation and repair experience or equivalent apprenticeship/trade experience
State-sponsored plumbing apprenticeship or equivalent
HVAC/refrigeration training or equivalent experience
Fire protection systems training
Valid driver's license
Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics
Strong mechanical and plumbing knowledge with experience using hand tools, power tools, and test equipment
Basic computer skills for email and maintenance documentation
Ability to work independently and with a team
Lift and carry tools, parts, and equipment up to 50 lbs.
Climb, bend, kneel, squat, and work at heights of 40+ feet
Work in confined spaces and changing environmental conditions
Safely use ladders, scaffolding, and rigging equipment
Work overtime or respond to emergencies when needed
Wear required uniforms and PPE
$35/hour
