Position Summary

The Jr. Superintendent supports and oversees day-to-day field operations on construction projects across multiple sectors. This position works closely with subcontractors, tradespeople, laborers, the Operations Manager, project management, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to contract requirements and quality standards.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on construction professional who is organized, detail-oriented, communicates well, and can confidently coordinate people and activities in a fast-paced field environment.

What You'll Do

• Coordinate and schedule daily work activities for tradespeople, laborers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Provide clear direction, assignments, and expectations to field personnel.
• Conduct and document weekly coordination and safety meetings.
• Monitor jobsite safety and immediately address safety violations, deficiencies, or concerns.
• Regularly inspect work to ensure quality, accuracy, and timely completion.
• Oversee subcontractor and supplier activities to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, contract requirements, and company standards.
• Monitor project costs, identify and communicate budget variances, and maintain accurate records of costs and inventory.
• Ensure required safety notices and postings are maintained at the jobsite.
• Maintain strong communication with project teams, clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
• Keep Procore updated with project progress, including status updates, documentation, and site photos.
• Help identify potential issues early and work with the appropriate team members to develop effective solutions.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

What We're Looking For

• 2–5 years of hands-on construction experience or field coordination experience.
• Strong understanding of construction processes and jobsite operations.
• Experience coordinating multiple people, trades, or activities in a field environment.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
• Ability to identify problems quickly and work toward practical solutions.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and changing project conditions.
• Professional, dependable, and safety-minded approach to field operations.

Technology Skills

Experience with the following is preferred:

• Procore
• Microsoft Project
• Microsoft Word
• Microsoft Excel

Nationwide Travel Required

This is a traveling position. The Jr. Superintendent will be required to travel to designated project sites throughout the country and remain on location, typically in hotel accommodations, for the duration of the project.

Extended travel and onsite project assignments are a condition of employment.

Appropriate travel expenses and per diem allowances are provided.

Physical & Jobsite Requirements

The Jr. Superintendent must be able to:

• Access and navigate all areas of an active construction site.
• Lift up to 40 pounds at times.
• Work safely in accordance with company and jobsite safety requirements.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Work outdoors and in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and inclement weather.
• Work in environments with elevated noise levels from heavy machinery and construction equipment.
• Maintain focus and attention to detail in an active and sometimes distracting construction environment.
