Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Engineer - Value Stream Leader to oversee and optimize manufacturing operations within our production environment. This is a manufacturing leadership development opportunity with a path toward owning an entire value stream/work cell. You'll drive continuous improvement initiatives, streamlining assembly processes, and ensuring operational excellence. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in lean methodologies, data analysis, and operational leadership, with a focus on enhancing efficiency and quality across value streams. Experience with composite materials, aerospace, or raw materials is a plus.
Duties
- Contribute to manufacturing operations within assigned value streams to meet production goals and quality standards.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles such as Kaizen events, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives to eliminate waste and improve process flow.
- Utilize data analysis tools to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), identify bottlenecks, and develop strategies for process optimization.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between engineering, operations, and quality teams to drive process improvements.
- Apply Lean methodologies and possess Green Belt certification to lead projects focused on efficiency and cost reduction.
- Support assembly processes by analyzing workflow, implementing best practices, and ensuring adherence to safety standards.
- Contribute to the development of manufacturing strategies that incorporate composite materials or aerospace components when relevant.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement through training, coaching, and mentoring team members on lean tools and techniques.
Skills
- Proven experience in manufacturing engineering with a focus on operations management and process improvement.
- Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles, including Kaizen events and 5S methodology.
- Green Belt certification or equivalent in Lean Six Sigma preferred.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools for tracking KPIs and identifying process inefficiencies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets and develop actionable solutions.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating across departments and leading change initiatives.
- Familiarity with assembly processes in manufacturing environments; experience with composite materials or aerospace industries is advantageous.
- Knowledge of raw materials handling and processing is a plus.
