Job Title: Packer

Shift: M-F 7am- 3:30pm

We are looking for individuals with material handling & packing experience. Individuals will be working in a hybrid role. They will pick/pack and need to be able to crate. They will not need to use a forklift.

Material Handler

Job Summary

The material handler is responsible for moving component materials throughout the production and warehouse areas. The handler will load and unload materials using lift trucks and pallet jacks, monitor inventory levels, count components to check quantity accuracy, conduct cycle counts, some sub-assembly work, receive deliveries of components into the warehouse, and fill orders by the different assembly groups. With comprehensive experience the Material Handler can move into jobs that involve more skill and greater responsibility.

Qualifications:

Essential Skills

• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written and oral form
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision
• Demonstrate a mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity
• Able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work schedule
• Ability to take responsibility for quality of work performed
• Ability to effectively write and read English
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs

Technical Skills

• Basic mathematical skills
• Ability to work alone, with little to no supervision while maintaining a high level of productivity and quality
• Forklift certified and manual pallet jack experience

Duties and Responsibilities

• Load and unload materials in the warehouse and storage facility
• Responsible for filling orders from different departments
• Inspect material handling equipment for defects and notify maintenance personnel of defects
• Move or expedite material to proper department or storage area. Assist in moving material from stock to work areas as requested by appropriate authorities.
• Responsible for the organization of inventory in the warehouse
• Conduct scheduled cycle counts
• Maintain warehouse appearance and promote workplace safety

Education/Experience

• High school education or equivalent
• One year experience with industrial lift equipment
• Must be able to work overtime when warranted

Packer I

Job Summary

The packer packs a variety of finished goods products and materials by hand to their correct containers using various equipment for packaging while following a specific set of standards and requirements. The packer seals and labels each of the containers properly then moves the completed packages to stock or loading dock. The packer completes quality forms which record product counts and track inventory. With comprehensive experience the packer can move into jobs that involve more skill and greater responsibility.

Qualifications:

Technical Skills

• Experience with a variety of hand tools used in packing finished goods including air and electric power tools

• Ability to read and interpret instructions and bills of material

Duties and Responsibilities

• Mark and label containers, or products, using marking tools

• Record product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records

• Remove completed or defective products to specified areas

• Seal containers or materials with screws, fasteners, banding equipment, and hand tools

• Place or pour products or materials into containers, using hand tools and equipment

• Obtain, move and sort products, materials, containers, and orders, using hand tools

• Examine and inspect containers, materials, and products in order to ensure that packing specifications are met

• Clean containers, materials, suppliers, or work areas, using cleaning solutions and hand tools

• Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• One year experience packing finished goods or general knowledge of packing processes and/or equivalent qualifying job experience preferred

• Must be able to work overtime when warranted
