We're seeking an Estimating Manager 1 to prepare cost estimates for competitive bids and negotiated proposals, develop more economical ways to construct projects, and provide professional and comprehensive deliverables for major estimates. This position will apply estimating processes and tools to develop project estimates while supporting the strategy, vision, and values of the organization.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform quantity surveys of materials shown on project plans.
- Read and outline project specifications.
- Maintain an audit trail of quantity surveys from estimate to estimate.
- Support vendor and subcontractor pricing, bid solicitation, and coordination.
- Support the distribution of plans and specifications to vendors and subcontractors.
- Work collaboratively and build relationships with project team members, subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
- Gain self-perform estimating experience.
- Gain field operational exposure through onsite project support as opportunities exist.
- Prepare complex cost estimates for competitive bids and negotiated proposals.
- Prepare material and other cost summaries for vendor quotes.
- Track value creation items from development through inclusion and document them in project documentation.
- Develop and manage scopes of work for all trades, including responsibility matrices, distribution of plans and specifications, pricing, bid solicitation, and vendor/subcontractor coordination.
- Utilize project schedule and logistics knowledge in project estimates.
- Assist with system analysis of building components and MEP systems.
- Assist operations staff with project logistics, staging, phasing plans, and coordination.
- Coordinate bid day summaries and general requirements.
- Participate in project procurement presentations.
- Collaborate with operations and field staff to develop more economical ways to construct projects during the preconstruction process.
- Provide professional and comprehensive deliverables at the completion of each major estimate.
- Improve project profitability opportunities by applying a basic understanding of insurance structures, fees, and rates.
- Provide training and mentorship to others.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree.
- 2+ to 5 years of experience.
- Commercial construction estimating experience.
- Experience estimating projects valued at $20 million or higher.
- Experience with On-Screen Take-off software.
- Microsoft Excel experience.
- Building Connected software experience.
- Ability to occasionally travel.
