Stone Cottage Care Center is seeking a Cook to join our skilled nursing facility in Sigourney, IA. The Cook assists with the preparation, cooking, and presentation of meals in accordance with planned menus and established portion control procedures.

Shift Available

• Full-Time | Days, Evenings, and some Weekends

Responsibilities

• Prepare all food served to residents.

• Plan food production to coordinate with scheduled meal serving hours.

• Memorize, record, and understand menu items, abbreviations, plate presentation, and portion sizes.

• Follow standard recipes and special diet orders.

• Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.

• Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes.

• Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, and appliances.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.

• One year of dining services experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or other healthcare setting preferred.

• Culinary school experience preferred.

• Ability to follow recipes, special diet instructions, and food safety procedures.

• Reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team.
