Accounting Clerk

Verdigris, OK | Full-Time | Potential for Growth into Staff Accountant | $22/hr.

System One is currently seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join a growing company in the Verdigris/Claremore area. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety in their day, takes initiative, and is willing to jump in wherever needed to support the accounting team.

The ideal candidate will be a cooperative, team-oriented professional who isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves, help clean up processes, and ask, "What can I do?" This position also has the potential to develop into a Staff Accountant role over time.

What You'll Be Doing

Your responsibilities will include a mix of accounting support, research, organization, and data entry. Initially, the workload may vary while processes are cleaned up and organized.

Accounts Payable

• Enter vendor invoices accurately into the accounting system
• Match invoices against purchase orders and receiving documentation
• Assist with weekly check runs and electronic payments
• Research and resolve vendor billing discrepancies and inquiries

Accounts Receivable

• Post daily cash receipts and ACH payments
• Monitor aging reports
• Follow up on overdue customer accounts by phone and email

General Accounting Support

• Perform high-volume data entry
• Respond to inquiries, conduct research, and maintain organized files
• Scan, organize, and file physical and digital accounting documentation
• Assist with routine month-end closing procedures
• Extract data and pull basic financial reports as needed
• Help clean up and organize accounting processes and workflow
• Take on other projects and responsibilities as needed

What We're Looking For

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Fast and accurate data entry skills
• Basic math, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including basic formulas and VLOOKUPs
• Experience with an ERP or accounting system is a plus
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Professional communication skills
• Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion
• A positive, cooperative attitude and willingness to help wherever needed
• Sage experience preferred
