Work Schedule:Up to 40 hours per week; hybrid eligible; shifts based on operationalneedof the organization. This is a fixed-term appointment of three (3) years from the date of hire, contingent on continued funding and businessneed. Employment is at-will, and there is no guarantee of extension or conversion.

Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) employs student-focused professionals with equity-mindsets. Established in 1963, Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) is a non-profit corporation led by a 14-member board of elected student leaders. ASI is an auxiliary organization authorized by the California State University Board of Trustees to perform Student Life functions for Cal Poly Pomona students. ASI provides opportunities for student engagement, student leadership and employment, and a multitude of Student Life programs and services e.g., recreation and wellbeing, student union and activities, student government, clubs and organizations, food pantry, and childcare. The administrative and student support areas of ASI include human resources, financial services, information technology, facilities management, and marketing. ASI employs approximately 500 part-time students and 60 full-time staff members. ASI accepts the responsibility for conscientiously managing mandatory student fees and state-owned facilities: $18M annual operating budget, $5M annual debt service, approximately $24M in reserves, and 294,253 square feet of student space (student union, recreation center, and pool). ASI is in the Cal Poly Pomona Division of Student Affairs with a dashed reporting line to Administrative Affairs. ASI serves the entire campus population, including over 28,000 students

POSITION DEFINITION

Under the general supervision of the Learning & Development Manager, the Learning Experience Design Coordinator leads the design and delivery of inclusive, hands-on learning experiences that strengthen staff capabilities and reinforce ASI’s competency-based learning model. Specializing in live, in-person, and virtual synchronous formats, this position leads the development of experiential workshops, trains facilitators, and evaluates learning effectiveness using both qualitative and quantitative methods. The role partners closely with the Instructional Design Coordinator to ensure a seamless blend of synchronous and asynchronous content, while also supervising a team of Learning Experience Assistants and the L&D Project Assistant. This position plays a critical role in cultivating psychological safety, adult learning practices, and inclusive facilitation methods across ASI’s learning ecosystem.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Lead the design, implementation, and facilitation strategy for competency-based, synchronous learning experiencesincluding live workshops, simulations, orientations, and action-learning initiatives.
  • Lead the development and delivery of inclusive facilitator guides, participant resources, slide decks, and hands-on training materials aligned with planned competency system and organizational goals.
  • Design high-impact experiential activities that foster real-world application, peer-to-peer learning, and reflective practice.
  • Recruits, selects, trains, develops, coaches, evaluates, and supervises part-time (2) Learning Experience Assistants and (1) L&D Project Assistant, fostering team growth and instructional design excellence.
  • Train, coach, and evaluate facilitators, subject matter experts, and Learning Experience Assistants to ensure delivery quality and alignment with learning objectives.
  • Conduct strategic evaluations of synchronous programs using observational data, participant feedback, and behavioral assessments (e.g., 360 reviews).
  • Collaborate with the Instructional Design Coordinator to co-develop blended learning pathways and ensure asynchronous and synchronous learning experiences reinforce one another.
  • Support learning retention through coaching sessions, action planning, reinforcement activities, and ongoing learner engagement touchpoints.
  • Provide instructional consulting to ASI departments, programs, and services seeking live training solutions or curriculum development support.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of learning-related dashboards, evaluation reports, and credentialing/badging initiatives.
  • Support the curriculum infrastructure and delivery of the Aspire to Inspire (A2I) professional development program, including implementation, tracking, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to support the assignment and management of required compliance training, as needed.
  • Engage in ongoing learning to support inclusive practices in training development and facilitation.
  • Maintain active communication and collaboration across departments and participate in staff meetings, trainings, and institutional initiatives
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in Adult Learning, Organizational Development, Education, or Psychology required or Bachelor’s degree with additional relevant pedagogical experience considered
  • Minimum four years of experience in developing synchronous, experiential learning design, instructional design, content creation, or course development
  • Minimum four years of experience in teaching, training delivery and facilitation with various adult audiences
  • Minimum two years of supervision, leadership, or oversight of staff, required
  • Functional experience with Microsoft Office and multimedia content development software required
  • Demonstrated sound knowledge of universal design practices
  • Working knowledge and applied skills in experiential course development and inclusive group dynamics management and facilitation
  • Working knowledge and skill in facilitator coaching and subject matter expert training
  • Functional knowledge of pedagogical approaches for adults
  • Ability to synthesize information and write reports
  • Knowledgeable in competency-based assessment (360-feedback) preferred
  • Experience working with culturally diverse populations
  • Ability to participate as a positive team player
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
