Hope and Healing Clinic is seeking a Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) who is eager to support their new cliniclocatedin Tumwater, WA.

The SUDP shall serve as the primary contact person with their assigned clinic patients. It is through thecounsellor'songoing individual contracts with his/her patients that the majorobjectivesof treatment areattained. S/He shall provide assigned patients with necessary program information and scheduling referrals to internal and external resources, individualcounselling, and guidance in developing their treatment plans and goals. The nature of this position is fast-paced in high-stress situations and conditions. The SUDP will report to the Clinical Lead/Supervisor.

The Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) Substance Use Disorder Professional should adhere to and value the philosophical priorities of the HARM Reduction Model, that Medication Assisted Treatment is the preferred method of addressing opioid addiction and that every patient deserves to be treated with respect,compassionand dignity.

Job Details

  • Job Title: Substance Use Disorder Professional/SUDP
  • Base Salary: $72,000. Hope & Healing offers medical, dental, vision, and life insurance; shortterm and longterm disability coverage; an Employee Assistance Program (EAP); vacation, sick, paid holiday, jury duty, and bereavement leave; and a 401(k)-retirement plan as part of our total compensation package.
  • Location: Tumwater, Washington
  • Work model:In-person/On-site
  • Hours: M-F, rotation on Mobile Unit
  • Travel Requirements: less than 10%
  • Reports to:SUDP Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures implementation of all clinic policies and treatment procedures; recommend policy and procedure updates and changes as necessary
  • Provide individualcounselingand case management services to assigned patients
  • Consistentlymaintainprofessional boundaries with patients and coworkers
  • Prompt,accuratecompletion of progress notations of all interactions with patients in assigned patient files
  • Professional preparation and prompt submission of:

1. Initial treatment plans

2. Ongoing treatment plans

3. Responses to positive urinalysis/breathalyzer results

4. Administrative detoxification notices

5. Letter ofassistanceand referral for assigned patients

6. Closing treatment summaries for discharged patients

7. Daily activity forms

8. Required state and agency recording forms

  • Maintain regular communication with the MSO and attends meetings as requested
  • Ensures the confidentiality of all patients and the integrity of professional staff communication andbehavior
  • Serve as a leader or co-leader of therapy or educational groups and provide other treatment activities
  • Meet with primary supervisor for the purposes of patient clinical consultation and clinical skill development, and/or other designated supervisor staff for the purposes of reviewing patient documentation and treatment planning issues
  • Coordinate assigned patient treatment with other staff departments
  • Participate in Treatment Team meetings to review patient treatment progress ad status, hear and act on patient appeal of administrative action and program non-compliance issues
  • Knowledge and compliance with HIPAA policies and procedures
  • Participate in Federal and State substance abuse training and continuing education as needed tosafely and effectively perform in the position
  • Interacts with all staff in a positive and motivational fashion supporting the company's mission and Best Practice Patient Experience

Position Requirements:

Education:

  • Academic training in the social service field andin the area ofchemical dependency treatment isrequiredin accordance withthe qualifications for a Department of Health licensed Chemical Dependency Professional as stipulated in the WAC.
  • Thecounseloris required tomaintainthis status and complete continuing education requirements throughout their employment.
  • Thecounselormust also provide the agency with ongoing documentation of their current Washington Department of Health SUDP license credential throughout their employment.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an SUDP.
  • Work experience in the social service field andin the area ofchemical dependency treatment isrequiredin accordance withthe qualifications for a Department of Health licensed Substance Use Disorder Professional as stipulated in the WAC.
  • LMHC desired, but notrequired
  • Opioid Treatment Program experience will be given hiring preference

Physical Requirements:

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this job:
  • A majority of the work shift is sitting at a desk in front of a computer.
    • There may be a need to work alongside the mobile unit team (regular rotation). Want to be comfortable working in various conditions and settings
  • Will spend some time on feet while filing, making photocopies or standing to greet a visitor.
  • Should have the ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. as maybe responsible formoving supplies or carrying heavy files or boxes.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and knowledge of substance abuse treatment planning andcounsellingissues
  • Thecounsellorshall be creative in developing and implementing effective approaches to chemical dependency treatment
  • Computer literate, with basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and electronic medical records systems, as well asa high levelof initiative in keeping current with technological change
  • Ability toestablishand maintain effective working relationships with staff, clients, and outside contacts from a wide variety of ethnic, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds; good diplomatic skills, including strong conflict-resolution skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Conducts all business activities in a professional and ethical manner
  • No history of alcohol or other drug misuse for 3 years prior to employment and does not display evidence of alcohol or other drugs abuse while employed
  • Must be able to pass required background checks
  • Complies withandup-to-datewith all other testing,screeningand credentialing asrequired
