Physical Therapist
Location: New York, NY
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–4:30 PM
Travel Gross Weekly: $1,800–$2,000/week (based on experience)
Local Rate: $48–$52/hour (based on experience)
Position Overview
We are seeking a Physical Therapist to provide comprehensive physical therapy services to a diverse patient population in an inpatient rehabilitation setting. This is an entry-level opportunity within a multidisciplinary team, with potential exposure to inpatient, outpatient, and acute care services.
Schedule Note: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–4:30 PM. Occasional weekend coverage may be available; when weekend coverage is required, a weekday off will be provided.
Required: Inpatient Rehabilitation experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform initial physical therapy evaluations and examinations.
- Establish appropriate treatment goals and develop individualized plans of care.
- Implement treatment interventions and conduct timely re-evaluations.
- Modify treatment goals and interventions based on patient progress and clinical needs.
- Coordinate patient care with other healthcare disciplines as appropriate.
- Complete all required documentation accurately and within established timelines, including initial evaluations, progress notes, monthly summaries, and discharge summaries.
- Provide education and training to patients, families, caregivers, and personnel as appropriate.
- Recommend appropriate durable medical equipment (DME) in coordination with relevant team members.
- Prepare letters of medical necessity when required.
- Participate in discharge planning and make recommendations for continued physical therapy services.
- Develop and provide home exercise programs when appropriate.
- Attend required conferences, patient rounds, in-services, clinics, and team meetings.
- Assume additional patient assignments when coverage is required based on staffing needs.
- Maintain accurate therapy attendance records, patient charges, and statistical information.
- Participate in the supervision and guidance of rehabilitation patient care associates, volunteers, and students.
- Follow all applicable organizational policies, procedures, and professional standards.
- Maintain active membership with the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
Required Qualifications
- 0–1 year of professional experience
- Inpatient Rehabilitation experience required
- Current New York State Physical Therapy License
- Excellent oral, written, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Master’s degree preferred
