The Role at a Glance
As the Electronics Assembly Operations Manager in Sterling, MA, you’ll run the daily production engine that powers our Eclips, AcerBox, Shield, and accessory product lines. You’ll allocate labor, orchestrate workflow, and be a constant, visible presence on the floorlinking what we make to what our customers receive. Your scope spans assembly, inventory accuracy, and shipping and receiving.
A Day in the Life
Start your morning with a floor walk and a quick huddle: set takt expectations, balance labor across assembly cells, and align with Supply Chain on inbound materials. You’ll review SMT and thru-hole test stations, confirm custom screening/branding runs, and greenlight prefab wiring jobs. Midday, you validate cycle counts and ERP transactions in Epicor Kinetic, then step to the dock to clear outbound shipments and troubleshoot exceptions. In the afternoon, you partner with Engineering on a product line transition, coach leaders on 5S and visual management, and close the day with safety checks and a throughput review to ensure on-time orders are on track.

Key Responsibilities Production & Assembly
- Execute daily production plans and output across Eclips, AcerBox, Shield, and accessory assemblies.
- Scale high-volume electro-mechanical build rates to customer demand.
- Direct electronics assembly and testing for SMT and thru-hole operations.
- Oversee in-house custom screening/branding and prefab wiring solutions.
- Lead labor allocation, scheduling, and on-the-floor guidance for a cross-functional hourly team.
- Drive throughput and on-time completion across all lines.
Inventory Control
- Safeguard inventory accuracy across central and finished goods warehouses.
- Own the cycle count program and steadily improve variance and accuracy.
Shipping, Receiving & Fulfillment
- Lead all shipping and receiving activities for the site.
- Establish and maintain clear, documented shipping and fulfillment processes.
- Manage on-time subcontractor deliveries in close partnership with Supply Chain.
Safety & Continuous Improvement
- Champion safety culture; track incidents and drive reduction initiatives.
- Monitor equipment health and minimize unplanned downtime.
- Collaborate on strategic projects, including product transitions and CI efforts.

What You Bring
- Leadership of 20+ hourly production/manufacturing teammates, ideally in electronics or electro-mechanical assembly.
- Hands-on knowledge of inventory control and warehouse management.
- Background in shipping, receiving, and order fulfillment.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 in production settings.
- Forklift operations and safety oversight experience.
- Epicor Kinetic or comparable ERP expertise preferred.
- Fluency with lean tools: 5S, visual management, structured problem solving, leader standard work, takt time, and related methods.
- A floor-first leadership stylecomfortable coaching at the line, not just reviewing reports.
- Clear communicator who partners easily with Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain.
