Job Summary:
SAFETY RESPONSIBILITY STATEMENT
Supports a culture of safe production and exhibits safe work practices. Actively participates in the safety program by engaging in safety activities. Effectively provides and accepts constructive peer-to-peer feedback on safety performance. Adheres to policies, procedures, SOPs, safe work practices, and safety policies and procedures. Reports ALL workplace incidents to their supervisor immediately. Communicate concerns to a supervisor, report hazards, and provide input on prevention. Properly uses, wears, and stores Personal Protective Equipment when required. Participates in safety teams and/or completes safety-related activities as part of regular job responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma and one-year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively to groups of customers or employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals to understand weights and measures. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with various concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret various instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Good problem-solving skills.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Moderate level of computer data entry experience required, including experience and skills with Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook).
Good time management skills; ability to prioritize and calmly handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment; demonstrate a strong sense of urgency; and work in different work centers as business needs require.
Strong teamwork skills; ability to work and communicate effectively with others; strong attention to detail skills; and demonstrated high quality of work.
Ability to earn certification and operate a Powered Industrial Truck (i.e. Turret Truck, Order Picker, Reach Truck).
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, to support the business.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and/or walk, climb stairs, use hands to finger, handle, feel, and/or use a tape dispensing gun, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is required to access products on the floor or low shelves and operate a hand truck or forklift with a 24-inch step. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception. Ability to go to heights of up to 26 feet when operating PIT (up to 30 feet in Sparks).
The employee must regularly lift, move (in some cases drag items), raise and/or place:
Palletize boxes and unload conveyor onto trailer - Lift up to 50 lb. boxes from floor to 36 inches. Lift up to 25 lbs. from waist to overhead.
Move pallets - Raise up to 55 lb. box from floor to one side, carry up to 10 feet and return to original position.
Load pallet - Lift up to 38 lbs. from 5 inches to 36 inches and return to 5 inches.
Load pallet onto order picker - Lift up to 15 lbs. from waist to waist height with 90 degree turn.
Move pallet jacks - Push and pull with force of up to 42 lbs. at 36 inch height.
Open and close overhead dock doors and trailer doors - Pull down with 70 lbs. of force from 75 inches and pull up with 70 lbs. of force from 9 inches.
Grasp up to 80 lbs. of force.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to herbal aromas, dust, and/or airborne particles, some of which are classified as allergens or irritants.
This position works in all areas of NOW’s manufacturing facilities with direct exposure to ingredients (powders and liquids), mixes (powders and liquids), equipment, and packaging.
The employee may be exposed to all of the FDA-designated major food allergens (Milk, Eggs, Fish, Crustacean shellfish (e.g., crab, lobster, shrimp), Tree nuts (e.g., almonds, walnuts, pecans), Wheat, and Soybeans, except peanuts).
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately loud, and louder hearing protection is required in some areas.
