Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for obstetric patients using established standards and the nursing process.
- Monitor maternal and fetal status, administer medications, assist with labor, delivery, and postpartum care; respond to emergencies as needed.
- Supervise and direct activities of nursing staff at multiple levels; coordinate care with obstetricians, anesthesia, and neonatal teams.
- Develop and implement care plans; document assessments, interventions, and outcomes; participate in discharge planning and patient/family education.
- Collaborate with the treatment team to provide a safe, healing environment and ensure smooth shift handoffs; maintain EPIC documentation.
Requirements
- Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice (California) required.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) from an approved vendor; Advanced Life Support (ACLS) and/or ARC-ALS; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) or ARC-NALS required.
- Experience: Minimum two years of recent RN experience in obstetric/acute care settings; EPIC experience required.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Additional: Ability to work in a rural, acute care hospital setting; strong critical thinking and teamwork skills.
