Custodian

The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout all LDC casinos and related facilities while upholding Laguna Development Corporation’s core values, policies, and procedures. This role includes performing a wide range of custodial duties such as vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, scrubbing, removing trash, cleaning ashtrays, restrooms, table games, slot machines, windows, mirrors, walls, doors, carpets, and furnishings, while excluding sensitive gaming areas and certain employee office spaces. Custodians are expected to practice safety standards at all times, report injuries and unsafe conditions, maintain knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment, and report repair needs. The position also emphasizes teamwork, professionalism, positive guest interactions, compliance with department procedures, participation in meetings and training, and serving as a mentor to other custodial staff when needed. Employees must be able to work under pressure and maintain dependable attendance, including weekends, holidays, and unusual hours.

The position prefers a high school diploma or GED but does not require any specific licenses or certifications. Custodians operate equipment such as carpet extractors, wet/dry vacuums, spot extractors, and chariot vacuums. The role is physically demanding, requiring frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, climbing, and repetitive hand use, along with regularly lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 25 pounds and occasionally handling loads exceeding 50 pounds. Mental requirements include decision-making, problem-solving, organization, planning, reading, and writing. The position does not have supervisory responsibilities, although mentorship of custodial and heavy-duty cleaning staff is expected during training. Work is performed indoors with exposure to loud noises and chemical fumes, and candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening as a condition of employment.
