Software Engineer

Heal Wellness and Innovations (HWI) is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, maintain, and improve software applications and technology solutions that support the company’s products, operations, and strategic initiatives. This role will work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to translate business and product requirements into reliable, scalable, and user-friendly technology solutions.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver who can work across the software development lifecycle, from planning and architecture through development, testing, deployment, maintenance, and continuous improvement.

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software applications, tools, and technology solutions.

• Translate business, operational, and product requirements into technical specifications and functional software.

• Build and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable applications and services.

• Develop and maintain APIs, integrations, databases, and connections between internal and external systems.

• Collaborate with leadership, project managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements, priorities, timelines, and deliverables.

• Participate in system architecture and technology decisions, recommending solutions that support HWI's current and future needs.

• Troubleshoot software issues, identify root causes, and implement effective technical solutions.

• Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code following established development standards and best practices.

• Develop automated tests and participate in code reviews to maintain software quality and reliability.

• Monitor application performance, security, availability, and overall system health.

• Manage software releases, deployments, updates, and ongoing maintenance.

• Evaluate new technologies, development tools, frameworks, and platforms that may improve HWI's products or operations.

• Maintain technical documentation, system documentation, and development processes.

• Work with third-party vendors, technology partners, and service providers when needed to support integrations and technical initiatives.

• Assist with data management, reporting, automation, and workflow improvements across the organization.

• Help identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve operational efficiency through technology.

• Support the development and implementation of new products, features, and technology-driven initiatives.

• Stay current with relevant software development practices, technologies, security considerations, and industry trends.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Professional experience in software development, application development, or a related engineering role.

• Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, C#, or similar.

• Experience working with relational and/or non-relational databases.

• Understanding of APIs, web services, system integrations, and software architecture.

• Experience with version control systems such as Git.

• Familiarity with software development lifecycle processes, testing, debugging, and deployment.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects or priorities.

• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a cross-functional team.
