Lana Funkhouser with Robert Half is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join a growing, employee-owned company in Meridian, Idaho. This is an onsite position and an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys owning the full payroll process. The selected candidate will oversee weekly and biweekly payroll for 120+ employees within a construction environment, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and exceptional employee support. Experience with certified payroll, QuickBooks, and construction payroll practices is highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Process full-cycle weekly and biweekly payroll accurately and on schedule for 120+ employees.
- Review, validate, and enter employee time records, earnings, deductions, benefits, and tax withholdings.
- Maintain payroll records and supporting documentation in compliance with company policies and payroll regulations.
- Utilize QuickBooks to process payroll transactions, reconcile payroll data, and generate required reports.
- Assist with certified payroll reporting and documentation for applicable construction projects.
- Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, timesheet issues, and employee payroll inquiries in a timely manner.
- Partner with Accounting and HR to process new hires, terminations, pay changes, benefit updates, and other payroll-related activities.
- Support payroll compliance, reporting requirements, audits, and recordkeeping processes.
- Identify and implement opportunities to streamline payroll procedures and improve efficiency.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of payroll administration experience, including full-cycle payroll processing.
- Experience processing payroll for a workforce of 100+ employees.
- Ability to manage weekly and biweekly payroll schedules with exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
- QuickBooks experience preferred.
- Construction industry payroll experience strongly preferred.
- Certified payroll experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of payroll compliance, recordkeeping, deductions, and tax withholdings.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and collaborative with strong problem-solving skills.
