We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join our team in Seattle, Washington. This role blends core accounting responsibilities with project-focused financial support, making it ideal for someone who can balance accuracy, responsiveness, and sound judgment. The successful candidate will contribute to daily accounting operations, strengthen billing quality across a large project portfolio, and help improve processes as the organization continues to grow.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations by handling both payables and receivables from initial processing through final resolution.

• Reconcile bank activity and key balance sheet accounts, investigating discrepancies and ensuring financial records remain accurate and complete.

• Manage shared accounting communications, address vendor questions promptly, and foster dependable working relationships with external partners.

• Contribute to monthly close activities by preparing entries, organizing supporting documentation, and helping maintain reporting deadlines.

• Provide support for audits and compliance-related requests by gathering records, clarifying transactions, and responding to information needs.

• Maintain project billing data, including rate updates, and review invoices for accuracy before client issuance, making corrections when needed.

• Monitor project charges to distinguish billable and non-billable time and expenses across a high-volume portfolio of active engagements.

• Partner with project managers as the primary accounting contact for billing matters, offering guidance that improves accuracy and reduces rework.

• Research complex accounting and tax questions, including multi-jurisdiction and international billing considerations, and recommend practical solutions.

• Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows and take on expanded responsibilities as the role develops over time.

The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $115,000.

• Demonstrated experience in senior-level accounting work, including general ledger activity, journal entries, and month-end close support.
• Strong background in accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliation.
• Hands-on experience with project accounting, including invoice review, billing oversight, and tracking of billable versus non-billable costs.
• Ability to analyze financial details carefully, identify inconsistencies, and resolve issues with a high degree of accuracy.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to support vendors, auditors, and project managers with careful attention to detail.
• Familiarity with audit support and compliance documentation in a fast-paced business environment.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities across daily accounting tasks and special projects.
