Quality Inspector
Environment:
ISO 9001:2015-certified, ITAR-registered metal fabrication job shop (sheet metal, CNC machining, laser cutting, stamping, welding/assembly) serving aerospace, automotive, military, medical, and appliance customers.
Responsibilities:
- Perform quality control/QA inspection on conforming and non-conforming parts across fabrication, machining, and assembly processes
- Conduct physical inspections using optical comparators, height gauges, calipers, dye penetrant, gauge blocks, and pins
- Program and operate CMM equipment (Mitutoyo; Keyence handheld probe experience a plus) for fixtures, parts, and assemblies
- Perform computer-aided, visual, and dimensional inspection
- Inspect final weld assemblies for build conformance
- Troubleshoot quality discrepancies and short-order issues; support root cause/corrective action
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of related quality inspection experience in a non-production manufacturing environment
- Strong hands-on knowledge of optical comparators, height gauges, calipers, dye penetrant, gauge blocks/pins
- Experience with CMM quality verification (Keyence experience a plus, not required)
- Strong command of GD&T and blueprint reading
- ITAR experience preferred; must be eligible to work under ITAR (US person status required given ITAR registration)
- Aerospace/automotive job-shop background a plus
