Chimney Sweep Laborer – Paid TrainingFireplace & Chimney Authority is looking for a dependable, hardworking individual to join our team as a Chimney Sweep Laborer. No chimney experience is requiredwe provide paid, hands-on training for someone who wants to learn a skilled trade and build a long-term career.
We are an established Chicagoland company that has been serving homeowners since 1992.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist our chimney sweep and installation teams with chimney cleanings, inspections, repairs, and fireplace services
- Load and unload tools, equipment, and materials
- Help prepare mortar and other job materials
- Set up and safely use ladders, scaffolding, and safety equipment
- Work on roofs and at various heights
- Keep company vehicles, tools, and job sites clean and organized
- Protect customers’ homes and provide professional, courteous service
- Complete hands-on training and study materials required to become CSIA certified
- Work toward independently completing chimney service routes
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Valid Illinois driver’s license
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
- Comfortable working on ladders, roofs, and scaffolding
- Able to perform physical labor indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain regular attendance
- Strong communication skills and a professional attitude
- Willingness to learn and follow all company safety procedures
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Previous construction, masonry, roofing, HVAC, fireplace, or skilled-trade experience is helpful but not required
Pay
- Starting pay: $18.00 per hour
- Pay increases to $25.00 per hour upon becoming CSIA certified
- Paid, hands-on training is provided
