Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and daily living support to individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities
- Assist clients with personal hygiene, grooming, meal preparation, and household tasks
- Implement individualized support plans (ISPs) and document progress accurately
- Transport and accompany clients to medical appointments, community activities, and errands
- Administer medications and monitor health conditions per established protocols
- Foster independence and skill-building through positive reinforcement and person-centered care
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, families, and care team members
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Previous experience in direct support, caregiving, or human services preferred
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a background check and meet state licensing requirements
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong interpersonal skills with a patient, empathetic, and team-oriented demeanor
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, or overnights
