Powder Coater
The role of the Powder Coater is to apply protective coatings to sheet metal parts and products, ensuring durable, defect-free finish through surface preparation, spraying and curing processes that meet company quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Use spray guns or powder dispensers to evenly apply powder coatings in controlled spray booth environment.
- Ensure product quality meets standards by frequently checking work.
- Examining finished products for uniformity, defects and adherence to client specifications.
- Maintenance of the spray gun parts and booths according to instructions.
- Cleaning and keeping work area tidy including basic maintenance of machine/tools and always operating safely.
- Maintaining expected productivity output levels and completing assignments as scheduled.
Required Skills:
- Ability to follow instructions in the preparation of products prior to powder coating.
- Knowledge of powder coating ovens to cure powder coated products.
- Experienced in Powder coating of products in a spray booth according to specifications.
- Knowledge of cleaning down spray guns and spray booths correctly.
- Experience with health and safety procedures.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to select paint and materials and follow work order to completion.
- Responsibility to see work orders are completed and parts painted according to requested specifications.
- Responsibility for ensuring powder booth is properly cleaned and prepared for powder change overs
- Ability to load and unload parts to the powder coat racks

- Propose improvements to quality procedures based on observations of production process.
- Prior forklift experience.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED preferred; vocational training or apprenticeship in surface preparation and coating are advantageous.
Compensation:
$20.00-$24.00. Salary may vary depending on experience.

Job Type: Full Time
Schedule:
- 8-hour shift, 1:30pm- 10:00pm
- Expected hours: 40 hours per week. OT eligible.
- Work Location: On-Site- Thornton, CO
