Machinist
Must have strong manual machining, fabrication, and maintenance responsibilities.
Key Duties
- Set up and operate manual machine tools including:
- Machine new and used metal parts to precise dimensions and tolerances.
- Perform layout work from blueprints, sketches, and templates.
- Calculate dimensions, tapers, feeds, speeds, and machining requirements.
- Make and repair:
- Dismantle, assemble, align, and repair plant equipment.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges, levels, and protractors.
- Operate cranes and mobile equipment as required.
- Complete required reports and documentation.
Required Experience/Skills
Candidates should have experience with:
- Manual machining and lathe operation
- Blueprint reading and interpretation
- Precision measurement and inspection
- Machine setup and troubleshooting
- Plant maintenance and equipment repair
- Fabrication and fitting work
- Metalworking with steel, iron, brass, alloys, castings, forgings, and bar stock
- Close tolerance machining
- Safe operation of cranes and shop equipment
You should be proficient in:
- CNC Tooling
- Tape Measure Reading
- Machine Setups for Production Runs
- Manual Machining Skills
