Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Construction Project Manager located in Irvington, NJ. The Construction Project Manager is responsible for managing custom millwork and architectural fabrication projects from planning through completion. This position will establish and monitor project timelines, coordinate with architects, designers, contractors, clients, and internal teams, and ensure projects are executed accurately and in accordance with project requirements.
The Construction Project Manager will oversee project scope, labor impacts, field dimensions, drawings, submittals, delivery, assembly, installation, and project documentation while maintaining effective communication with all project stakeholders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain project timelines, milestones, and deliverables to support successful project completion.
- Manage custom millwork and architectural fabrication projects from initial planning through completion.
- Collaborate with architects, designers, contractors, clients, and internal teams to ensure accuracy, design alignment, and project requirements are met.
- Understand and monitor the cost impacts of labor efforts and identify, track, and manage project scope.
- Review field dimensions, architectural drawings, millwork shop drawings, submittals, and related project documentation.
- Ensure site measurements and project information are accurate and properly documented.
- Monitor and coordinate delivery, assembly, installation, and millwork activities.
- Coordinate information between internal teams, clients, vendors, trade partners, and other project stakeholders.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication regarding project progress, schedule, scope, and potential issues.
- Manage client relationships and effectively communicate project expectations, updates, and concerns.
- Identify potential project delays or issues and work with the appropriate teams to develop solutions.
- Monitor project progress to ensure work is completed in accordance with project requirements and established timelines.
- Maintain organized and accurate project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead or support project closeout and ensure completed work meets client and company expectations.
- Ensure all project activities comply with applicable governmental regulations, OSHA guidelines, and company policies.
- Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, including good housekeeping practices, on-site safety inspections, safety-rule compliance, and incident reporting and investigations.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as directed by the Supervisor or other management personnel.
Requirements:
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3years of experience as a Millwork Project Manager or in a closely related construction/project management role.
- Previous experience in the woodworking, architectural millwork, or construction industry.
- Strong understanding of custom millwork, architectural fabrication, and installation processes.
- Strong business acumen in project planning and management.
- Strong ability to manage project scope, timelines, labor considerations, and multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
