About the Role: Boxwood Learning Center Inc in Roselle, NJ is looking for a passionate and dedicated After School Tutor to join our team! This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in students' lives by providing academic support and building confidence in a nurturing learning environment.
Responsibilities:- Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions for students (ages 10 - 15) in a variety of subjects
- Assess student needs and tailor instructional strategies to support individual learning goals
- Assist students with homework, test preparation, and skill-building exercises
- Track and monitor student progress and communicate updates to center staff
- Create a positive, encouraging, and structured learning environment
- Collaborate with center staff to align tutoring sessions with student academic plans
- Maintain accurate session notes and attendance records
Requirements:- Experience tutoring, teaching, or working with school-age children
- Must have a driving license
- Strong knowledge in core academic subjects such as math, reading, writing, or science
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient, encouraging, and adaptable teaching style
- Ability to work afternoon/after school hours in four locations - Hillside, Roselle, Rahway and Plainfield. Mileage reimbursement available.
- High school diploma required; college coursework in Education or related field preferred
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to student success
