We're seeking an experiencedStainless Steel TIG Welder/Fabricatorto join a custom fabrication shop specializing in high-quality stainless steel equipment and industrial assemblies. This is a hands-on role for a skilled fabricator who can take a project from raw material to finished product, including layout, forming, welding, fitting, grinding, and final finishing.

• Perform full-cycle fabrication of custom stainless steel components and assemblies.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications to build products to exact requirements.
• Set up and operate fabrication equipment, including press brakes, shears, grinders, and other shop equipment.
• Execute high-quality TIG welding on stainless steel materials.
• Perform fitting, layout, assembly, and modification of custom industrial equipment.
• Grind, polish, and finish stainless steel components to meet both quality and cosmetic standards.
• Inspect work throughout the fabrication process to ensure accuracy and compliance with specifications.
• Troubleshoot fit-up and fabrication issues and make necessary adjustments.
• Perform fabrication and welding in confined or hard-to-reach areas when required.
• Support occasional field installation or service projects as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and production goals.

Required:

• Strong experience in custom stainless steel fabrication.
• Advanced TIG welding experience on stainless steel.
• Experience with fitting, layout, assembly, and blueprint reading.
• Experience operating press brakes, shears, grinders, and fabrication equipment.
• Strong grinding and finishing skills with an eye for detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage projects from start to finish.
• Commitment to quality, safety, and craftsmanship.

Preferred:

• Experience fabricating large industrial equipment or custom assemblies.
• MIG welding experience.
• Ability to troubleshoot fabrication and fit-up challenges.
• Experience working in a custom fabrication or job shop environment.
• Experience performing installation or field service work.

Work in a22,000-square-foot custom fabrication facilitydesigned for large-scale stainless steel projects. The shop features modern fabrication equipment including press brakes, shears, grinders, and TIG welding stations.

This is a highly skilled fabrication environment where employees regularly work on custom equipment and industrial assemblies. The role requires standing for extended periods, handling large materials, performing detailed finish work, and occasionally working in confined spaces within equipment during fabrication and assembly.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, OR.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
