Project Manager – High Voltage Substation & Transmission
Location: Spring, TX
Travel: Occasional travel to project sites
Our client is seeking a Project Manager to lead high voltage substation and transmission line projects from planning through completion. Projects may include renewable energy and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) work. The selected candidate may be hired at the Project Manager I or II level based on experience and education.
Responsibilities
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, and contract requirements.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Track project costs and partner with finance on forecasting.
- Provide regular updates on progress, risks, and project issues.
- Identify risks, develop mitigation plans, and escalate issues when appropriate.
- Ensure work meets applicable safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to project planning decisions and improvements to project management processes.
Required Qualifications
- At least 4 years of relevant project management experience, including significant experience managing high voltage substation and/or transmission line projects in an EPC environment.
- Knowledge of high voltage electrical systems and experience coordinating multidisciplinary projects.
- Experience with budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and contract administration.
- Proficiency with MS Project or Primavera and Microsoft Office.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Project Management, or Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to travel occasionally to project sites.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with renewable energy projects, BESS, grid integration, or energy management systems.
- PMP or similar project management certification.
- PE license or MBA.
