Machine Operator

This role operates a variety of metal fabrication machinery to produce high-quality automotive components. The Machine Operator sets up and runs equipment, performs precise measurements and inspections, interprets blueprints, and ensures all parts meet strict quality standards while working safely in a modern manufacturing environment on 1st shift (5:15 a.m. – 3:45 p.m.).

• Set up and operate lathes, bolt makers, screw machines, tappers, inspection machinery, nut formers, mills, saws, drill presses, punch presses, and other metal fabrication equipment.
• Perform machine changeovers and setups to meet production requirements and part specifications.
• Manufacture suspension components, specialty nuts, shafts, bearing rings, plates, and other automotive parts for major vehicle brands.
• Interpret and read blueprints and drawings to ensure accurate machining and part production.
• Conduct thorough quality inspections on parts and finished automotive components using micrometers, calipers, gauges, tape measures, and other precision tools.
• Perform ongoing quality checks during and after production to verify dimensions, tolerances, and overall part quality.
• Troubleshoot machinery issues and fix defects to maintain smooth production and minimize downtime.
• Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to maintain consistent output and quality standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
• Lift and move materials and parts up to 50 pounds as part of daily production activities.

• At least 2 years of machine operating experience in a metal fabricating environment.
• Proficiency in operating metal fabrication equipment such as lathes, mills, punch presses, drill presses, saws, bolt makers, screw machines, tappers, and nut formers.
• Ability to perform machine setups, changeovers, and basic troubleshooting on production equipment.
• Strong blueprint reading skills, including interpreting dimensions and tolerances.
• Hands-on experience using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and tape measures for precision measurement and inspection.
• Ability to perform detailed quality checks on finished machined and automotive parts.
• Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of manufacturing processes and machine operation.
• Capability to lift up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly during the shift.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality.

• Experience with press brake operation and other forming equipment.
• Background in production and manufacturing of automotive or metal components.
• Skill in inspection processes, including using various measurement tools and documenting results.
• Familiarity with state-of-the-art production equipment and organized, lean-oriented work practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a tight-knit team with a focus on quality and productivity.
• Strong problem-solving skills for identifying and resolving machine and process issues.
• Reliability and commitment to maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Valley City, OH.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
