Activities Aides

Aliya of Crestwood is seeking a compassionate, energetic, and resident-focused Activity Aide to join our team in Crestwood, Illinois. The Activity Aide will assist with planning and facilitating engaging activities that promote socialization, independence, mental stimulation, and overall quality of life for our residents.

The Activity Aide assists with the development and implementation of recreational and therapeutic activities designed to meet the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical needs of residents. This position works closely with the Activities Director and interdisciplinary team to create a welcoming and engaging environment for all residents.

• Assist with planning, organizing, and facilitating daily resident activities, including recreational programs, games, crafts, music, exercise, and social events.

• Assist with resident outings and special events as assigned.

• Encourage resident participation while respecting individual interests, abilities, preferences, and limitations.

• Prepare activity supplies, materials, equipment, and designated spaces before and after programs.

• Interact with residents in a friendly, respectful, and compassionate manner.

• Develop positive relationships with residents, families, and staff.

• Observe and communicate resident participation, preferences, behaviors, and concerns to the Activities Director and appropriate members of the interdisciplinary team.

• Maintain accurate documentation and records related to resident activities and participation.

• Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe activity environment.

• Follow all facility policies, procedures, safety standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.

• Participate in required staff meetings, in-service education, and training programs.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Previous experience working with seniors, in long-term care, skilled nursing, assisted living, recreation, or a related setting is preferred.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Compassionate, patient, and respectful approach when working with residents.

• Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.

• Ability to organize activities and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff.

• Must be able to read, write, and understand English.

• Must demonstrate professionalism and maintain resident dignity, privacy, and confidentiality.
