Position Overview
We are seeking Travel Electricians for nationwide service work supporting commercial and industrial clients. This role involves inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems, along with installing updates to outdated infrastructure. Current openings are available in Champaign IL, Cincinnati OH, Pittsburgh/Cleveland, Baltimore, DC, Philadelphia, Richmond VA, and Phoenix. Candidates should be prepared for day, night, or 3rd shift work depending on client needs, with travel required for 1-3 weeks at a time.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect and test electrical components to diagnose problems and repair broken systems
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and install new wiring, lighting, fuse boxes, and generators
- Oversee training and mentorship for co-workers as needed
- Manage multiple tasks simultaneously to meet project deadlines and daily deliverables including photos, signed checklists, and As-Builts
- Conduct tests to confirm newly installed systems and components are fully operational
- Ensure all electrical work meets local, county, state, and federal codes and legal/insurance requirements
- Adhere to all safety requirements set by the company, client, and OSHA
- Read blueprints and comprehend scope of work documents
- Maintain strong customer relationships and clear communication across all levels
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Journeyman or Master Electrician at the state level
- Experience as a Lead or Foreman electrician
- Experience as a Commercial and/or Industrial Electrician
- Willingness and flexibility to travel regionally for 1-3 weeks at a time
- Available for on-call, day, night, weekend, and overtime shifts as needed
- Working knowledge of industry standards and current NEC requirements
- Certified to operate a boom or scissor lift and comfortable working at heights
- Proficient with Microsoft Office including email, Word, and Excel
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record, no DUI or DWI within the last three years
- Able to pass drug screening, background check, and pre-screening tests
- Basic hand tools and PPE
Benefits and Compensation
- Hourly wage range of $25-$45 based on experience and location
- $125 per diem paid per day when overnight travel is required
