Heavy Machine Operator

We are seeking a Heavy Machine Operator to support operations at industrial facilities, including a metal recycling facility. Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, this role will operate cranes, forklifts, and skid steers while managing materials safely and efficiently. Operators may work rotating or dedicated equipment assignments, with an advancement path toward Lead Operator.

Responsibilities

• Operate cranes, forklifts, skid steers, and other assigned heavy equipment.
• Inspect equipment before and during use to identify operational concerns.
• Handle and move materials safely throughout the worksite.
• Manage loads according to equipment capabilities and worksite requirements.
• Perform preventive maintenance and report equipment issues.
• Identify hazards and support safe operations in industrial and metal recycling environments.

Required Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience operating heavy equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with heavy equipment, excavators, or loaders.
• Equipment maintenance knowledge.
• Worksite safety awareness.
• Strong communication skills.
• Situational awareness in active industrial environments.
