Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

This role focuses on operating screw machines and CNC machines to manufacture precision components used in hydraulic units, refrigeration units, industrial machinery, and farming equipment. The position requires hands-on machining experience, strong problem-solving abilities, and proficiency with tools to ensure efficient, high-quality production.

Responsibilities

• Operate screw machines and CNC machines to produce components for hydraulic units, refrigeration systems, industrial machinery, and farming equipment.
• Set up, run, and monitor Mori-Seiki machines, RoboDrills, and Davenport screw machines to meet production specifications and quality standards.
• Perform routine checks and adjustments on CNC equipment to maintain optimal performance and minimize downtime.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively during machine operation and basic maintenance tasks.
• Identify and troubleshoot machining and equipment issues, applying problem-solving skills to resolve them promptly.
• Inspect finished parts for accuracy and quality, ensuring they meet required tolerances and customer specifications.
• Follow established work instructions, safety procedures, and quality guidelines throughout the production process.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to coordinate workflow and meet production goals.
• Perform basic maintenance on machines as needed to support reliable and efficient operation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with shop standards.

Essential Skills

• Hands-on experience operating screw machines and CNC machines in a production or machining environment.
• Proficiency using tools and equipment commonly found in a machine shop setting.
• Ability to operate Mori-Seiki machines, RoboDrills, and Davenport screw machines or willingness to learn these platforms.
• Understanding of basic machine maintenance practices related to CNC and screw machines.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions and quality standards for machined components.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to shop policies and procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and focus on producing high-quality, accurate parts.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Automotive maintenance experience is a plus and can support mechanical aptitude in this role.
• Relevant schooling or technical education in machining, manufacturing, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience working in a machine shop or manufacturing environment.
• Willingness to work overtime when needed to support production demands.
• Ability to work effectively in a calm, team-oriented environment.

Work Environment

This position operates in a calm, cool, and collected machine shop environment on a first shift schedule, typically from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Overtime is available and expected at times to meet production needs. The shop is equipped with Mori-Seiki machines, RoboDrills, Davenport screw machines, and related CNC equipment, providing a well-organized setting for precision manufacturing.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saukville, WI.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
