Job Description

Join a first-shift structures team maintaining and repairing general aviation and corporate aircraft. You will perform structural inspections, repairs, and modifications on airframes and control surfaces while ensuring full compliance with regulatory standards and company procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections, repairs, and modifications on aircraft structures, including fuselage, wings, and control surfaces.
  • Use technical manuals, blueprints, and engineering drawings to plan and complete accurate structural repairs.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and preventive actions to ensure ongoing aircraft structural integrity.
  • Collaborate closely with other mechanics and technicians to troubleshoot and resolve structural issues.
  • Maintain detailed, accurate records of all work performed in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Ensure all work complies with FAA regulations and internal quality standards.
  • Operate, care for, and maintain tools, equipment, and machinery used in structural repairs.
  • Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a clean, organized, and efficient work area.
  • Communicate clearly with team members and leadership regarding work status, issues, and repair needs.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods, as required by the job.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Structures Mechanic on general aviation or corporate aircraft.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of FAA regulations and compliance standards related to aircraft structures.
  • Experience working on corporate jets and general aviation aircraft, including platforms such as King Air, Citation, Hawker, and Learjet.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail in a maintenance and repair environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to follow detailed instructions.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks that require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Technical school training in aviation maintenance or a related field is preferred.
  • Citation aircraft experience is a plus.
  • Avionics experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) operations and AOG support environments.

Work Environment

This role is based in a business aviation hangar at the Smyrna, TN airport, just outside Nashville. You will work in a clean, organized, and professional hangar environment focused on corporate and general aviation aircraft. The position is on first shift, supporting maintenance and structural repair operations using standard aviation tools, equipment, and technical documentation in a regulated, safety-conscious setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of La Vergne, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $42.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
