Job Description

This hands-on Service Technician role focuses on inspecting, repairing, maintaining, and preparing modular buildings and mobile office trailers. You will work across multiple trades, including carpentry, light electrical, flooring, plumbing, painting, HVAC checks, and general building repair. Success in this position requires strong mechanical aptitude, meticulous attention to detail, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to complete projects efficiently and on schedule.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, and maintain mobile office trailers and modular buildings to ensure they are safe, functional, and presentable.
• Perform framing and finish carpentry repairs, including structural and cosmetic work on interior and exterior components.
• Complete light electrical tasks such as basic fixture, outlet, and wiring-related repairs within established guidelines.
• Install, repair, and maintain flooring materials, ensuring surfaces are properly prepared and finished.
• Perform plumbing repairs, including basic fixture maintenance and leak resolution.
• Carry out interior and exterior painting, touch-ups, and surface preparation to maintain a professional appearance.
• Conduct general building maintenance and repairs on doors, windows, walls, trim, fixtures, and other building components.
• Perform basic HVAC system inspections and routine maintenance in line with company procedures.
• Inspect and maintain trailer running gear and related components to ensure safe transportation and operation.
• Complete customer-requested building modifications according to specifications and quality standards.
• Perform service and repair work both in the yard and at field locations, adapting to changing business needs.
• Use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and basic construction equipment safely and effectively.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and others.
• Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to coordinate tasks and meet project deadlines.
• Provide professional, courteous customer service when interacting with clients and site personnel.

Essential Skills

• Proven ability to perform general construction and maintenance tasks, including carpentry, light electrical, flooring, plumbing, painting, and general building repair.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and basic construction equipment.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
• Strong safety awareness and adherence to established safety practices and procedures.
• Mechanical aptitude and the ability to move between different types of repairs throughout the day.
• Ability to provide professional and respectful customer service in yard and field environments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in general labor, construction, or production environments.
• Comfort using a wide range of hand tools and power tools for building repair and maintenance.
• Modular buildings, mobile office trailers, or similar structures is beneficial.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and complete work within established schedules.

Work Environment

This role is primarily based in a yard and field service setting, working directly on modular buildings and mobile office trailers. You will regularly handle hand tools, power tools, ladders, and basic construction equipment while performing repairs both indoors and outdoors, depending on project needs. The work involves moving between different tasks and locations throughout the day, requiring physical activity and adherence to safety protocols at all times. Dress is practical and appropriate for construction and maintenance work, with required personal protective equipment provided or specified according to company safety standards

This is a Contract position based out of Poway, CA.

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
