Production Associate

This role supports a production facility that manufactures resin-filled tubes used in the mining industry. The tubes resemble sausage casings and contain two chemicals that harden into a concrete-like substance when combined. Tubes are approximately one inch in diameter and range in length from six inches to five feet. Production associates work in several key areas, including packaging, quality inspection, machine operation, and mixing, to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality output.

• Place packaged resin tubes onto pallets in a specific order and pattern to ensure safe, stable, and efficient stacking for storage and shipment.
• Work at a fast pace while lifting and moving materials, including occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds, using lift-assist equipment when available.
• Perform visual inspections of resin tubes to verify overall appearance, detect defects, and ensure products meet quality standards.
• Measure tube length and diameter using a tape measure to confirm they are within specified tolerances before packaging.
• Slide inspected and approved material into the packaging machine in a consistent and accurate manner.
• Operate the ILU machine after training, using the HMI (Human-Machine Interface) to monitor and adjust machine parameters such as temperature, pressure, and speed to achieve the correct product consistency.
• Troubleshoot production issues on the ILU machine by applying problem-solving skills to identify and correct process deviations.
• Participate in initial production runs and changeovers on the ILU machine to ensure the first pieces meet quality and performance requirements.
• Perform general labor and production tasks as needed, including basic assembly and handling of materials throughout the production process.
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment, as assigned, to move raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
• Follow established safety procedures and guidelines while working with machinery, chemicals, and material handling equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area by following housekeeping standards and promptly addressing spills or debris.
• Use basic math skills and tape measure reading to support quality checks and production measurements.
• Collaborate with team members and leadership on the production floor to meet production goals, maintain quality, and support continuous improvement.

• Willingness and ability to work extended hours, including 60–70 hours per week and scheduled Saturdays.
• Comfort working in a non-temperature-controlled environment with varying conditions.
• Commitment to following safety procedures, including wearing required protective footwear and long pants.

• Experience in production, general labor, or manufacturing environments.
• Background in packaging, assembly, or machine operation.
• Familiarity with quality control practices and using a tape measure for precise measurements.
• Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment.
• Comfort using an HMI (Human-Machine Interface) to monitor and adjust machine settings such as temperature, pressure, and speed.
• Strong problem-solving skills, particularly for roles such as ILU operator that require 3–6 months of training.
• Interest in learning multiple roles, including packaging, quality, ILU operation, and mixing, to support career growth and development.

The facility is a production environment that manufactures resin-filled tubes for industrial use. The workspace is not temperature controlled, but it has good airflow and is equipped with heat for the winter months. Employees typically work 60–70 hours per week, with a first shift running from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and Saturday from 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and a second shift running from 6:30 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Monday through Friday, and Saturday from 6:30 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. A shift premium applies to second shift work. The role involves working around production machinery, packaging equipment, and material handling tools such as forklifts, and it requires consistent standing, lifting, and movement throughout the shift. The dress code includes steel-toe footwear and long pants to support safety requirements on the production floor.

This is a Contract position based out of Georgetown, KY.

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
