Job Title: General Production Worker (Morehead, KY)

Job Description

This role focuses on operating molding and assembly line equipment to produce plastic automotive parts. You assemble components, inspect finished products, sort and package items, and ensure stock is organized and ready for shipment in a clean, team-oriented production environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate molding machines and assembly line equipment to produce plastic automotive parts according to production specifications.
• Assemble plastic components accurately and efficiently while following established work instructions and quality standards.
• Inspect parts for defects, damage, or nonconformance and take appropriate action, such as sorting, reworking, or rejecting defective items.
• Sort finished products based on type, quality, and production requirements to support downstream processes and shipping.
• Package products using appropriate materials and methods to ensure items are protected and labeled correctly.
• Stock finished goods and components in designated areas to maintain organized inventory and support continuous production flow.
• Use hand tools and basic production equipment safely and correctly during assembly, packaging, and related tasks.
• Perform general labor duties on the production floor, including material handling, cleaning work areas, and supporting team members as needed.
• Follow all safety guidelines, including wearing required steel toe footwear, and report any unsafe conditions or equipment issues.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work cell and contribute to a collaborative work environment with other team members.
• Adhere to scheduled shifts and production targets, including occasional work up to six days per week as required.

Essential Skills

• Experience working as a production worker in a manufacturing or general labor environment.
• Hands-on experience with molding operations or similar machine operation in a production setting.
• Background in assembly work, preferably assembling plastic or automotive parts.
• Ability to inspect products for defects and quality issues with attention to detail.
• Experience sorting, packaging, and stocking products in a production or warehouse environment.
• Comfort using hand tools and basic production equipment safely and effectively.
• Capability to perform general production and general labor tasks for an entire shift.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to safety and quality procedures.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, move materials, and work in a warm environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in automotive parts production or plastics manufacturing.
• Familiarity with operating forklifts or other material handling equipment.
• Experience working in small work cells or team-based production environments.
• Demonstrated reliability in meeting attendance and punctuality expectations.
• Ability to adapt to different tasks such as assembly, inspection, packaging, and stocking as production needs change.

Work Environment

You work in a clean manufacturing environment organized into small work cells with a few other team members. The facility operates traditional 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, with three primary shifts: 1st shift from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., 2nd shift from 2:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., and 3rd shift from 10:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Schedules may include up to six days per week for a maximum of 48 hours. Steel toe boots or shoes are required as part of the dress code, and the environment can be hot during the summer months. You spend most of your time on the production floor performing hands-on tasks such as assembly, inspection, packaging, and stocking.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Clearfield, KY.

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $15.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
