Technical Project Manager

We are looking for a Technical Project Manager to lead a Workday Financials implementation for a financial services organization in Fort Worth, Texas. This Long-term Contract position will guide a fast-paced deployment with a firm launch deadline, partnering with business leaders, technical teams, vendors, and implementation stakeholders to keep the program on track. The ideal candidate brings strong experience overseeing Workday Financials projects, managing complex integrations, and communicating clearly with executive and cross-functional audiences.

POSITION: WORKDAY FINANCIALS/HCM IMPLEMENTATION PROJECT MANAGER

LOCATION: FORT WORTH, 4 DAYS A WEEK ONSITE

DURATION: 6 MONTHS, POSSIBLE EXTENSIONS

RATE: $70 - $80/HOUR W2

Responsibilities:

• Direct the end-to-end delivery of a Workday Financials program, ensuring milestones, risks, and dependencies are actively managed against a fixed go-live target.

• Coordinate project activities across internal teams, external partners, and vendors to maintain alignment on scope, priorities, and deliverables.

• Oversee complex integration workstreams, including connectivity with an outsourced payroll provider and other critical financial systems.

• Lead status reporting, steering discussions, and executive updates, translating technical progress and issues into clear business impacts.

• Drive cross-functional decision-making by identifying roadblocks early and facilitating timely resolution with key stakeholders.

• Manage project plans, governance routines, and issue logs using structured project management practices and tools such as Jira.

• Support go-live readiness planning, cutover coordination, and post-launch stabilization activities to promote a successful transition into hypercare.

• Ensure implementation teams meet quality, timeline, and communication expectations in a compressed delivery environment.

• Demonstrated success leading Workday implementation projects in a project management capacity, with emphasis on Workday Financials delivery.
• Hands-on experience managing programs that include complex system integrations within an enterprise environment.
• Background coordinating Workday interfaces tied to a third-party payroll solution.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence executives, guide cross-functional teams, and present updates with clarity.
• Proven ability to deliver against aggressive deadlines while maintaining organization, accountability, and stakeholder confidence.
• Experience with project delivery methodologies and tools such as Agile, Scrum, Jira, and broader IT project management frameworks.
• PMP certification is preferred.
• Availability to work on-site in Fort Worth, Texas four days per week.
