Openwork is hiring a Manufacturing Technician for a production facility in Houston, TX 77095. This position is a good fit for someone with hands-on manufacturing experience who is comfortable operating production equipment, performing basic troubleshooting, and supporting daily production operations.
Qualified candidates must have at least 2 years of manufacturing, production, packaging, equipment operation, or related experience. Experience with pumps, pneumatics, light electrical work, and mechanical troubleshooting is a plus.
Position at a Glance:
Location: Houston, TX 77095.
Pay: $19.00 per hour | Weekly Pay.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM.
Shift: 2nd Shift.
Training: Approximately 2 weeks on 1st Shift, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM.
Employment Type: Full-Time.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Set up, operate, disassemble, and clean filling equipment.
- Make basic adjustments and repairs to filling, labeling, and sealing equipment.
- Troubleshoot basic equipment and production issues.
- Operate heat sealers, band sealers, and other packaging equipment.
- Perform labeling, packing, and light assembly.
- Prepare materials and supplies for production runs.
- Perform quality checks on equipment and finished products.
- Follow work orders, production instructions, and standard operating procedures.
- Complete production records as required.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe equipment and work areas.
- Work with the production team to meet daily production goals.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
- Minimum 2 years of manufacturing, production, packaging, equipment operation, or related experience REQUIRED.
- Experience operating or working around production equipment.
- Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and product quality.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Reliable and consistent attendance.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn new equipment and production processes.
- Availability to complete approximately 2 weeks of first-shift training before transitioning to 2nd Shift.
Experience Is a Plus In:
- Pumps.
- Pneumatics.
- Light electrical work.
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting.
- Filling, labeling, sealing, or packaging equipment.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Hands-on manufacturing and packaging environment.
- Regular equipment setup, operation, cleaning, and basic troubleshooting.
- Extended periods of standing and repetitive production tasks.
- Commitment to equipment safety, quality, and workplace procedures.
