What you’ll be doing:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Project Engineer on a part-time basis to oversee the engineering, coordination, and installation of multiplefermentation tanksand the dedicated building structure designed to house them.

In this role, you will act as the technical point of contact, bridging the gap between our internal team, structural architects, tank manufacturers, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) contractors. The ideal candidate has strong foundation in mechanical or civil/structural engineering and a proven track record of managing equipment-intensive facility buildouts.

Location:Solon, OH (Hybrid/On site requirements)

Key Responsibilities:

• Engineering Coordination:Review and validate engineering drawings, datasheets, and P&IDs for both the storage tanks and the surrounding building design.
• Vendor & Contractor Management:Serve as the primary technical liaison for tank fabricators, structural steel contractors, and foundation pouring crews.
• Spatial & Rigging Logistics:Coordinate the structural integration of the tanks into the building layout, ensuring optimal clearance, proper foundation load ratings, and safe rigging/placement sequencing.
• On-Site Supervision:Conduct routine on-site inspections in the Greater Cleveland area to monitor construction progress, verify installation tolerances, and resolve field engineering issues.
• Project Tracking:Maintain project schedules, manage Requests for Information (RFIs), review submittals, and ensure compliance with local building codes, OSHA standards, and environmental regulations. Report to management progress and any problems that are foreseen

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a highly related discipline.
• Experience:3+ years of experience in project engineering, facility layout design, or heavy equipment installation.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency reading and interpreting industrial facility blueprints, structural schematics, and piping layouts.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or BIM/Revit is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of foundation loading, structural support systems, and rigging procedures for large vessels.
• Soft Skills:Excellent project management, communication, and vendor-negotiation skills.
• Logistics:Must be locally based in Northeast Ohio to accommodate scheduled weekly site visits.
