Quality Engineer

Position Summary:
We are seeking a detailoriented and highly organized Quality Control Specialist to support our R&D programs within a DoD government contracting environment. This role is responsible for ensuring that all products, materials, processes, and documentation comply with internal quality standards, contractual requirements, and applicable government regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience in a regulated environment, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality throughout the development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

· Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures to support R&D and prototype development activities.

· Inspect, test, and evaluate materials, components, and finished products for compliance with quality standards, specifications, and DoD requirements.

· Review engineering drawings, specifications, and project documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.

· Maintain detailed QC records, inspection reports, and required documentation to support audits, compliance reviews, and contract deliverables.

· Identify nonconformances, perform rootcause analysis, and support corrective and preventive action activities.

· Collaborate with engineering, production, and project management teams to ensure quality expectations are clearly communicated and consistently met.

· Support internal and external audits, including DoD compliance reviews and technical evaluations.

· Ensure QC processes align with AS9100, ISO 9001, and other relevant quality standards (if applicable).

· Assist in developing quality metrics, reporting trends, and recommending process improvements.

· Safeguard controlled technical information and follow all security protocols in accordance with DoD and company policies.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Quality Assurance, Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.

· Experience in quality control or quality assurance within a DoD, aerospace, defense, or highly regulated environment preferred.

· Strong understanding of inspection techniques, QC documentation, and compliance requirements.

· Familiarity with government contracting environments, including DFARS/NIST security and quality expectations, is a plus.

· Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problemsolving skills.

· Strong communication and collaboration skills.

· Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities with accuracy and professionalism.

· Must be eligible to obtain a DoD security clearance.

Working Conditions:

· Standard office and lab environment with occasional work in production or testing areas.

· Some travel may be required for supplier inspections or offsite testing.
