Position Overview
Individual and Family Connection (IFC) is seeking a motivated and compassionate Clinical Intern to join our team. This internship provides hands-on experience working with children, adolescents, and families in a supportive, collaborative clinical environment.
Interns at IFC are not just observingthey are actively developing as clinicians through direct client work, supervision, and real-world application of therapeutic skills.
What You’ll Gain

Key Responsibilities
- Provide psychotherapy services to children, adolescents, and families (under supervision)
- Develop and implement treatment plans aligned with client needs
- Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation
- Participate in supervision, team meetings, and case consultation
- Collaborate with caregivers, schools, and other providers as appropriate
- Support ethical and thoughtful client transitions when needed
Ideal Candidate
- Currently enrolled in a Master’s program in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field
- Eligible to begin or currently completing clinical internship/practicum hours
- Passion for working with children and families
- Strong interpersonal skills and openness to feedback
- Commitment to ethical practice and professional growth

Additional Details
- Location: In-person (Chicago/River Forest area) with telehealth opportunities
- Schedule: Flexible based on academic requirements and site needs
- One weekend shift is required
- Supervision: Provided by licensed clinicians in accordance with state requirements
