Ranch Hand

Opportunity to join a family run Ranch located in the SE Wyoming with a growing Highland Cattle Cow/Calf breeding operation with up to 60 head and 5 Horses. The ranch was established in recent years and has made significant investments in new structures, fencing and water facilities throughout what was once adjoining grazing lands.

The ranch is committed to regenerative rotational grazing, low stress cattle management practices, pursuing targeted genetic breeding outcomes, land conservation and stewardship. The ranch is a member of the American Highland Cattle Association and has a growing fold of registered, pure-bred Highlands. The Ranch shows and participates in regional cattle competitions and recently has won National Reserve Champion and Regional Champion statuses with its bulls.

This is not a Cowboy job.

Responsibilities

• Care for, feed, and monitor cattle and horses
• Horsemanship skills
• Livestock handling, doctoring and animal husbandry activities.
• Maintain stables, pens and waterers
• Repair and maintain fences, facilities, and ranch infrastructure.
• Operate tractors, skid steer and utility vehicles safely and effectively.
• Maintain ranch equipment and support equipment-related tasks.
• Inspect and maintain water systems
• Show experience a plus

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in ranch operations.
• Valid driver's license and transportation
• Experience with livestock handling and animal husbandry.
• Experience with fence repair and regenerative pasture management.
• Horsemanship skills
• Equipment maintenance experience.

Housing provided with utilities, medical stipend, 2 weeks annual paid vacation, annual bonus.
