Diversified Support Services (DSS) is seeking a Material Handler/Floater to support manufacturing and production operations. This role is based in Pell City, AL and is responsible for safely moving materials, supporting production equipment, and assisting with a variety of manufacturing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Safely operate forklifts, stackers, and overhead cranes to move, load, and position materials.
Load and unload machines, trucks, and storage areas while maintaining accurate inventory through cycle counts and material control.
Backfill for machine operators and assist with assembly, painting, and other production activities as needed.
Perform visual and quality inspections while maintaining a clean, organized, and safety-compliant work area.
Follow all safety procedures and perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; previous manufacturing or warehouse experience preferred.
2+ years of daily forklift operation experiencerequired; forklift certification preferred or must be obtained upon hire.
Overhead crane certification preferred or must be obtained upon hire; valid state driver’s license required.
Strong attention to detail, multitasking ability, and commitment to safe work practices.
Ability to stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, and occasionally lift/move up to50 lbs.
Schedule & Pay
Schedule: 1st shift 6am-2:30PM
Pay: $17.67-$21 depending upon experience
Full-time, non-exempt position.
Work is performed in a manufacturing/warehouse environment with exposure to moving equipment, noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
