Staff Project Engineer

CPC & Associates is helping their client fill a Staff Project Engineer position at its Lima, Ohio refinery. This role will manage a portfolio of complex refinery projects, primarily at Lima, with support for other sites as assigned.

The Staff Project Engineer will lead teams across engineering, construction, operations, and contractor organizations. From scope development through startup, this person will be responsible for delivering projects safely, meeting technical and regulatory requirements, and managing schedules and budgets.

• Serve as Project Manager for a diverse portfolio of refinery projects.

• Build and lead project teams, keeping stakeholders engaged throughout planning and execution.

• Guide projects through stage reviews, gate approvals, and technical assurance.

• Oversee scope development, engineering, fabrication, construction, commissioning, and project controls.

• Work with internal teams and contractors to resolve challenges and maintain project progress.

• Deliver quality installations and successful startups that support long-term reliability and operational performance.

• Lead with a strong focus on health, safety, environmental, and regulatory performance at every project stage.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.

• At least 12 years of relevant experience in refining or a similar oil or petrochemical setting. Experience may include project engineering, project management, construction, turnarounds, operations, or technical leadership.

• A record of successfully delivering a range of projects, programs, or site activities.

• Experience managing engineering or construction work, with knowledge of refinery engineering deliverables and construction practices.

• Strong stakeholder management and leadership skills, with the ability to move projects forward through competing priorities and uncertain situations.

• Authorization: US Citizen, US Green Card Holder or qualify for a TN Visa.
