Grab-N-Geaux is hiring evening cashiers in Lake Charles and Sulphur stores. If you like people, can keep your head in a rush, and want a job where showing up and doing it right actually gets noticed, this is a good one and your mornings stay yours.

ABOUT THE SHIFT

Evening is an 8-hour shift scheduled between 12:00 PM and 10:00 PM. You'll work the lunch rush or the drive-home rush depending on where your hours land, and the back half of the shift is about resetting the store for the next day stocking, cleaning, getting the coolers right. This is also the shift with the most contact with your Store Manager, deliveries and vendors, so if you're new to convenience stores it's where you'll learn the fastest.

Your exact start time is set with your manager inside that window. Good fit if you have class in the morning or kids to get on the bus.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Greet every guest with "Welcome to Grab-N-Geaux"

- Ring up guests quickly and accurately: cash, card, and lottery

- Check ID on every alcohol, tobacco and lottery sale, every time, the way Louisiana law requires

- Count your drawer in and out and keep it right

- Know what's on promotion this week so you can tell a guest about it

- Keep the front counter, the coffee bar and the restrooms clean through your shift every one of us does this, managers included

- Face and rotate product, oldest to the front, and reset the store for the next morning

- Handle the food case to our standards if your store runs one

- Back up your crew when it gets busy

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

You need to:

- Be 18 or older

- Be able to make change and count a drawer

- Be able to get to the store reliably

- Be willing to work weekends and some holidays we're open when people need us

- Have your Louisiana Responsible Vendor permit before your first shift.

It helps if you have:

- Worked a register, a counter or a drive-thru before

- Worked in a convenience store, gas station or restaurant

No diploma required and no experience required. If you've never done this, say so we train.

ABOUT GRAB-N-GEAUX

Our founders learned the gas station and convenience store business in Texas, perfected their barbecue, and brought both to Lake Charles. Today we run 30 stores across Southwest Louisiana, and the smokehouse is still the thing people drive out of their way for. We're a Louisiana company, we're still growing, and every store is staffed by people from the town it sits in.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This job is on your feet. You should expect to stand and walk for most of your shift, and to lift, carry, push or pull up to 40 lbs. on a regular basis. Reasonable accommodations will be considered for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job.
