Position Summary
Arthur Aviation is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Aviation Loader to support aerial application (crop dusting) operations. This role is responsible for accurately loading agricultural chemicals and materials into aircraft, supporting pilots and ground crews, and ensuring all operations are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
This is a critical, hands-on position during peak growing seasons and is ideal for individuals with an interest in agriculture, aviation, and outdoor work.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely mix, load, and transfer crop protection products, fertilizers, and other approved materials into aircraft
- Follow all chemical label instructions, application requirements, and safety protocols
- Support pilots by ensuring aircraft are loaded accurately, efficiently, and on schedule
- Conduct basic inspections of loading equipment, pumps, hoses, and containment areas
- Maintain clean, organized, and compliant chemical handling and loading areas
- Accurately complete load sheets, chemical usage records, and required documentation
- Assist with receiving, staging, and inventorying agricultural chemicals
- Follow all FAA, EPA, state, and company safety and environmental regulations
- Wear required PPE and promote a strong safety-first culture
- Assist with general aviation facility and ground operations as needed
- Other duties as assigned to support aviation and agronomy operations
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license required
- Ability to obtain any required state applicator or handler certifications (company-supported)
- Basic understanding of farming, agronomy, or agricultural chemicals preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely
- Ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and extended hours during peak season
- Dependable, safety-minded, and able to work well as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience handling agricultural chemicals or working in agronomy operations
- Familiarity with aviation environments or aerial application operations
- Forklift or equipment operation experience
- Basic mechanical aptitude
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods
- Work performed outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Exposure to noise, aviation fuels, dust, and agricultural chemicals (with PPE provided)
- Ability to work around aircraft, heavy equipment, and moving machinery
Schedule & Employment Details
- Seasonal position, typically spring through summer
- Non-exempt (hourly, eligible for overtime) role
- Hours vary based on weather conditions, pilot schedules, and application demand
