Position Description: About the RoleGramazon is seeking a Packaging Assembly Team Leader to oversee multiple teams that turn finished cannabis products into compliant, sale-ready units. This hands-on role assigns employees to packaging stations, monitors output and quality, manages product counts, and coordinates finished-goods handoffs.The Team Leader keeps work moving across stations, coaches employees, and addresses staffing, material, quality, or equipment issues before they disrupt production.Core AccountabilitiesSafety: Maintain clean, safe workstations and enforce required protective equipment, sanitation, and safe work practices.Quality: Confirm that each station uses the correct product, packaging, labels, and counts. Stop and contain suspected defects or mix-ups.Production: Balance staffing across teams, monitor hourly output, and address bottlenecks.Cost Control: Limit rework, damaged packaging, product loss, excess work in process, and avoidable downtime.Compliance: Maintain product traceability, accurate counts, correct labeling, and complete production records.Leadership: Assign work, coach employees, verify training, and communicate performance or attendance concerns to management.EssentialResponsibilitiesLead multiple packaging teams and assign trained employees to stations based on production needs.Review the product, packaging setup, labels, output goals, quality standards, safety conditions, and assignments at the start of each shift.Monitor workflow and move trained employees between approved stations to address bottlenecks.Coordinate break coverage, material replenishment, and removal of completed products.Coach employees on standard procedures and escalate recurring performance, conduct, attendance, or training concerns.Verify the correct product, containers, pouches, labels, boxes, and documentation before packaging begins.Prevent mixed products, incorrect packaging or labels, skipped steps, and uncontrolled work in process.Lead line clearance when changing products or strains, ensuring previous materials are removed or properly identified.Confirm required visual, count, label, package, and finished-box checks are completed and documented.Stop and contain suspected product, packaging, labeling, count, or traceability errors and notify processing leadership.Track product issued, completed units, rework, damaged materials, remaining product, and authorized waste.Monitor hourly output and identify staffing, material, quality, or equipment issues affecting production targets.Document planned and actual output, labor hours, defects, downtime, shortages, and unresolved issues.Coordinate finished-goods counts and handoffs with the Processor Assistant Manager and Inventory or Shipping personnel.Report upcoming material needs early to help prevent line stoppages.Reconcile product and components, complete reports, clean work areas, and communicate remaining work at the end of each shift.Performance ExpectationsPerformance will be evaluated based on safety, quality, output, efficiency, compliance, and team leadership. The Packaging Assembly Team Leader directs day-to-day work across assigned packaging teams, including staffing, station assignments, quality checks, controlled counts, and production reporting.The Team Leader may assign and move trained employees between approved stations, correct routine workflow issues, and stop or hold work when safety, product identity, labels, counts, package quality, or traceability is uncertain. Product disposition decisions and changes to specifications, labels, or approved packaging configurations must be escalated to authorized leadership.QualificationsRequiredMust be at least 21 years old and eligible to work in Michigan’s regulated cannabis industry.Packaging, assembly, manufacturing, or cannabis processing experience; 2 or more years preferred.Team lead, line lead, or comparable floor leadership experience strongly preferred.Ability to lead multiple small teams and adjust staffing based on production needs.Strong attention to product identity, labeling, counts, quality checks, line clearance, and documentation.Ability to set clear expectations, coach employees, and maintain accountability.Strong math, organization, observation, and problem-solving skills.PreferredCannabis pre-roll or finished-goods packaging experience.Experience coordinating temporary labor or packaging work across multiple stations.Familiarity with METRC, regulated labeling, or cannabis traceability.Experience with line balancing, 5S, visual production management, or hourly output tracking.Apply TodayIf you have experience leading packaging teams and can keep production moving while maintaining quality and accurate inventory counts, we invite you to apply for the Packaging Assembly Team Leader position with Gramazon.?#Retail26 Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8–10 hours per shift).Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 30 pounds; occasionally lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.Perform repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements throughout the shift.Maintain manual dexterity to package, label, sort, and inspect cannabis products.Ability to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, reach, and twist frequently.Work in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining accuracy and quality.Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, hairnets, beard covers (if applicable), safety glasses, and other protective gear.Maintain visual acuity to inspect products, read labels, and identify quality concerns.Work in varying environmental conditions, including temperature-controlled production areas.Safely operate production equipment and follow all safety procedures.Ability to remain focused and meet production quotas while adhering to compliance and quality standards.Regular and reliable attendance with the ability to work overtime, weekends, or holidays as needed. $15.00 - $17.00 Hourly
