Water treatment is not glamorous work but it is essential work. The pharmaceutical and biotech facilities that depend on pure water systems cannot afford downtime and they cannot afford a field engineer who does not know what they are doing. A water treatment company serving the pharma and biotech industry in Marlborough, Massachusetts needs a Field Service Engineer who has been around electro-mechanical systems long enough to troubleshoot them remotely before they even get on site.

You will perform preventative and corrective maintenance on water treatment systems including Filtration, Ion Exchange, UV, Reverse Osmosis, EDI, Ozone, WFI and Pure Steam, work with electrical control panels and PLCs, conduct water quality testing, interface directly with customers and provide startup support on new systems. The majority of your travel will be within the six New England states with 75 percent centered around the Boston area. Occasional travel to Quebec, New York and parts of the mid-Atlantic and upper Midwest may be required with advance notice.

What you need to bring:

• 5 to 10 years of experience with electro-mechanical equipment including pumps, valves and motors
• 5 to 10 years of system maintenance experience
• 3 to 6 years of experience with electrical control panels including the ability to tune loops and program instrumentation
• 3 to 6 years of water treatment industry experience
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Willingness to travel throughout New England with occasional travel beyond the region
• Ability to work flexible hours and travel on short notice
• Ability to lift heavy objects and be on your feet the majority of the workda
