The UPS Store is seeking a motivated, customer-focused Retail Associate to join our team. As a key member of our store, you will provide exceptional customer service, assist with shipping and printing needs, and support the daily operations of the store. You’ll play a crucial role in creating a positive customer experience while working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Greet and assist customers with shipping, printing, packaging, and postal needs. Provide product recommendations and resolve customer inquiries in a professional and friendly manner.
- Shipping & Receiving: Process shipments, including preparing and packaging items for mailing via UPS and other carriers. Maintain knowledge of shipping rates, services, and policies.
- Retail Sales: Promote store products and services, including shipping, printing, mailbox rentals, and packing services. Meet sales goals and upsell additional services when appropriate.
- Printing Services: Assist customers with print services, including creating custom print products, operating copiers and printers, and ensuring high-quality results.
- Store Operations: Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked store environment. Ensure the store is visually appealing and that shelves are stocked with relevant products.
- Cash Handling: Accurately process customer transactions using the point-of-sale (POS) system, handle cash, credit card, and check payments, and provide change as needed.
- Problem Solving: Address and resolve customer concerns or complaints in a timely and professional manner, escalating issues to the Store Manager as needed.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with other team members to achieve store goals and provide the best customer service possible.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
- Previous retail or customer service experience is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Detail-oriented and able to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to lift packages up to 50 lbs.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software programs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
