Overview of the Role:
The Human Resources Generalist serves as a hands-on HR partner to employees and managers, supporting the full employee lifecycle, including talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations and workplace investigations, assistance with grievance processes. Other administrative responsibilities include compensation and benefits administration, training and development, HR compliance, and HR data and reporting.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Regular attendance is required to maintain the functions of the job
- Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings. Collaborates with managers and applicants to coordinate next steps including the job offer and post offer processes
- Coordinates new hire onboarding and orientation for hourly and salaried roles, to support a positive employee experience and early engagement
- Supports HR programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, employee relations, performance and talent management, recognition, employee engagement, ESG, and training and development
- Routinely communicates and problem solves with employees, Supervisors and Managers across the organization
- Participates and supports business-wide HR continuous improvement initiatives.
- Supports and provides leadership for our temporary staffing resources, collaborates with managers across manufacturing and distribution centers to ensure staffing levels meet minimum requirements
- Assists with implementation of policies and procedures
- Processes data and paperwork according to established procedures, working across both the Human Resources and Payroll and Benefits areas. Organizes documents, performs data audits, works within the ADP/HRIS system, ensures data accuracy.
- Supports compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, EEO, Form I-9) and maintains required records and postings
- Prepares HR reports and metrics (e.g., headcount, turnover, time-to-fill) to support business decisions, and updates SOP documentation
- Performs other duties as assigned

Education/Experience/Other:
- Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or 2-3 years of Human Resources experience, required; Bachelor's degree preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly desired
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to use HR data to identify trends and recommend solutions
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and HRIS/payroll systems (ADP preferred); experience with applicant tracking systems a plus
- Ability to travel between our Lancaster County locations and 1-2 times per year to other subsidiaries
