Substance Abuse Counselor

Stewards of Recovery has operated in Idaho for over 11 years, focusing on helping our local community while also accepting clients from throughout the state. We are dedicated to delivering patient-centered, strength-based care for adults, youth, and families struggling with addiction and mental health challenges.

This is a full-time or part-time role for a Therapist/Counselor based across southeastern Idaho. This role involves serving diverse populations through comprehensive clinical therapy, including conducting assessments and facilitating individual, group, and couples/family therapy. The therapist will utilize individualized care to meet each client's unique needs while working collaboratively as part of a close-knit team to foster the most effective care and prevent clients from feeling lost in the system. By joining Stewards of Recovery, the therapist will act as a steward of healing and hope, contributing directly to our mission to support clients through every stage of their recovery journey.

Qualifications

• Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field (required)
• Active licensure in Idaho as an LMSW, LCSW, LPC, LCPC, or LMFT (supervision provided for LMSWs)
• Experience or strong interest in Substance Use and/or Mental Health therapy
• Ability to deliver strength-based therapy across diverse populations (adults, youth, and families)
• Proficiency in conducting clinical assessments, individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy
• Proficiency in operating within an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to consistently complete clinical documentation within 72 hours
• Strong communication, empathy, and collaborative problem-solving skills

Compensation & Benefits

• $34–$40 per billable hour
• Hiring Bonus: $2,000 paid after 90 days from start date
• Performance Bonus: Eligible for up to $2,600 in total annual bonuses (paid quarterly) for meeting minimum billing and notes timeliness thresholds
• Loan Repayment: NHSC Loan Repayment qualified site (applicants can apply for up to $70,000 in loan repayment through https://nhsc.hrsa.gov/loan-repayment)
